MUSCLE BUILDING REP RANGES by Jason Maxwell – If your goal is to build muscle you need to spend 70-80% of your time getting stronger in the 6-12 rep range. – Here's something you can try: have a day where you train in the 6-8 rep range and then a day where you train in the 8-12 rep range. – On your 6-8 rep range day work up to your heaviest set of 6-8 reps. For example let's say you work up to a set of 225lbs in the bent over row and you manage to get 7 reps. Then take off 10% and do a 2nd set
